Ingredients:

pound (454g) dry pinto beans
- 6
cups ( 1-1/2 liters) water
- 1
small onion, chopped
- 1
clove garlic, minced
- 1
pound (454g) ground turkey, browned
- 2
14-1/2 ounce (406g) cans stewed tomatoes
- 2
10-3/4 ounce (300g) cans tomato soup
- 1
1-1/4ounce (35g) package chili seasoning mix
- 1/4
cup (60 ml) sugar, optional
- Salt
and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- Rinse
and salt beans. Place beans in large bowl, cover with water. Soak overnight.
- Drain
and rinse beans. Place beans, onion and garlic in 5 Quart Cooker; add
6 cups water to cover beans. Cover and bring to a boil at 350°F
(177°C), cook for 30 minutes. Reduce to simmer and cook for 30 to
45 minutes or until beans are tender.
- Add
remaining ingredients, stir to combine. Cover and simmer for 1 to 2
hours. Serve with low-fat cheese and crackers.
